What is Box-e?
Box-e is a cloud app by 4BOXES for production tracking, documents management and easier maintenance of complex machinery. You print a QR code once, and every document, serial number and stock movement stays attached to the part.
Which platforms does Box-e run on?
The web app covers every feature. The iOS and Android apps cover the product catalog, production tracking, documents and access control lists: they scan Box-e QR codes and read product or serial number data, including linked documents.
Does Box-e require a licence?
Yes. Every feature listed on this page requires an active licence. The mobile apps are a free download, but some of their features also require an active licence.
How does Box-e track a physical product?
You generate serial numbers for products in your catalog, linked to specific production sites, and Box-e generates a QR code for each one. Scanning it with the mobile app, or with any phone camera for public products, returns the product data and its linked documents.
What can Box-e do with documents?
Upload a PDF once and link it to multiple products, serial numbers and order lists from a single section. Serial numbers automatically inherit the documents uploaded to their parent product. Document management is limited to PDF files.
Can Box-e print labels?
Yes. Box-e prints its QR codes as labels in PDF format, or directly to ZEBRA printers that support ZPL II.
Does Box-e manage warehouse stock?
Yes, from the web app. It keeps track of product stock and moves products between sites; creating or deleting serial numbers updates the stock automatically.
Can I control who sees which data?
Yes. Access Control Lists let you decide how people access the data of your products, serial numbers and linked documents. User groups can be extended to any user, including people outside Box-e.
